Getting Started
How do I connect my domain to Daedalus hosting?
After signing up, we'll send you DNS settings to update at your domain registrar. If you're using our migration service, we handle this for you.
How long does setup take?
New accounts are typically active within 24 hours. Migrations take 2–5 business days depending on the complexity of your site.
Do I need to upload my files myself?
If you're using our free migration service, no — we move everything for you. If you prefer to upload manually, we provide SFTP access.
How does email forwarding work?
Email forwarding sends messages sent to your domain address (e.g. hello@yourdomain.co.uk) to your existing inbox. You can reply from your regular email client.
Can I send emails from my domain address?
Email forwarding covers receiving. If you need to send from your domain address, you'll need a full mailbox — available on Business and Pro plans, or as an add-on (£3/mo).
Why are my emails going to spam?
We configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for all domains. If emails are still landing in spam, contact support and we'll check your configuration.
SSL & Security
Is the SSL certificate really free?
Yes. Every plan includes a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate that renews automatically. Pro plans include a wildcard certificate that covers all subdomains.
What security measures do you have?
Every plan includes a web application firewall, malware scanning, DDoS mitigation, and security hardening at the server level.
Do you scan for malware?
Yes. We run regular malware scans on all hosted sites. If malware is detected, we'll notify you and help clean it up.
Backups
How often do you back up my site?
Daily. Backups are stored for 7 days (Starter), 30 days (Business), or 90 days (Pro). Pro plans also include on-demand backups.
How do I restore a backup?
Contact support and we'll restore your site from the most recent backup (or a specific date if you prefer). There's no charge for restores.
Can I download my backups?
Yes. Contact support and we'll provide a download link for your most recent backup.
Billing
How does billing work?
All plans are billed monthly. Payment is taken on the same date each month. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at your next billing date.
What's your refund policy?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you cancel within 30 days, we refund your first month in full.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The monthly price includes SSL, backups, security, and support. Setup and migration are free — the only extra costs are any optional add-ons you choose.

What type of hosting do you provide?
We specialise in static HTML hosting — sites built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including sites created with AI tools, static site generators, or hand-coded by developers.
Do you support WordPress?
Our standard plans are optimised for static sites. For managed WordPress, see our WordPress hosting.
Do you provide SSH or SFTP access?
Yes. All plans include SFTP access. SSH access is available on Pro plans by request.
What's your uptime guarantee?
99.9% on Starter and Business plans, 99.95% on Pro plans. If we fall below the guaranteed uptime, you're eligible for service credits.
